Governance structure

The NEPAD Water Steering Committee is a properly constituted governing body with executive powers and responsibilities over the NEPAD Water Initiative.

1. The NEPAD Water CoE Steering Committee is the governance structure of the NEPAD Water CoE who are represented in the annual general meeting (AGM)

2. The NEPAD Water CoE Steering Committee consists of the representatives of the founding members.

3. Representatives from NEPAD OST, SADC OST, WRC and IRD are included in an advisory capacity.

4. The elected Chairperson of the Steering Committee is University of Stellenbosch whose term is from April 2009 to April 2011. The rotating chairperson, Prof. Eugene Cloete, is elected by the NEPAD Water CoE Steering Committee.

5. The Secretariat will facilitate and raise funding for the NEPAD Water Initiative and play a role in coordination as determined by the NEPAD Water CoE Steering Committee.
